The life of Cheyenne Benefield, a 12-year-old Freedom Public Schools student, was cut short due to an automobile accident on January 4, 2019, south of Freedom.
Cheyenne Carol Benefield was born on February 23, 2006, in Galveston, Texas, to Gregory Benefield and Vickie Limestall. Cheyenne grew up in LaFayette, Alabama, and Freedom, Oklahoma. She was currently attending Freedom Elementary. She loved barrel racing, horseback riding and playing basketball. She was also the 2018 Rodeo Princess in Freedom, Oklahoma. Cheyenne loved horses, dogs, cats and deer. She loved all animals.
She is survived by her father, Gregory Benefield, and stepmom, Lisa Smith Benefield of Vancleave, Mississippi; grandparents Carol and Walter Benefield of Lafayette, Alabama, and Billy and Willie Sutterfield of Vancleave, Mississippi; aunts and uncles Tracy and Sheila Benefield of Alvin, Texas; Jeff Benefield of Lafayette, Alabama; and Scott and Sherry Sutterfield of Vancleave, Mississippi; stepsisters Hailey Hall and husband Ron of Mississippi and Jessica Limestall of Oklahoma; nieces and nephews Arionna Hall, Tyler Hall and Austin Snyder, all of Mississippi; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Vickie Limestall.
Cheyenne lived life to the fullest doing horse shows and barrel racing, but most of all she loved animals. She had a way with animals, from deer to horses.
