Delayed City of Kiowa building project and committee responsibilities questioned

Police Chief Houston explains why third officer is needed

 


Over a year ago, at Kiowa City Council meetings there was a sense of urgency to begin renovations of the City of Kiowa building at 618 Main St. That was due to health hazard concerns for employees and others from serious mold that had developed from a leaking roof. A next door building was purchased for expansion of the city office, council chambers and to house the police department. A planning committee was formed to help plan details of the renovation and expansion. Now a year has passed and little has commenced on the project.

Frustration is evident on all sides. Some question transparency...
