Harding Women's Tennis Blanks Henderson State, Wins Sixth Straight

SEARCY – Harding women's tennis ran its winning streak to six straight matches Tuesday with a 7-0 nonconference victory over Henderson State at the Harding Tennis Courts.
Harding (9-1) quickly took the doubles point with wins at all three doubles spots. Rylie Cox and Arisa Takanashi former Harding's No. 1 team for the first time since early in February. The change paid off with a 6-0 victory. Hana Folse and Lindy Carpenter won 6-2 at No. 2, and Allison and Emily Carpenter won their third straight 6-4 at No. 3. It was the team-leading 12th doubles victory of the season for Allison and Emily Carpenter.
Harding did not lose more than three games in any of the six singles matches. Lindy Carpenter won first at No. 6 and stretched her singles winning streak to nine matches. She is 13-2 overall.
Folse won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. It was the second time in 43 collegiate matches that Folse won without losing a game. Emily Carpenter won her fourth straight 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 to clinch the match for Harding. Henderson State lost its fifth straight match and fell to 2-5.
Allison Carpenter won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 for her 10th singles win of the season. Cox earned Harding's sixth point with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 1. Cox has won 12 straight matches and is 15-1 overall. Takanashi won the last match on court 6-2, 6-1 to improve to 11-3 this season.
