The April 2 meeting was opened by President Carolyn Demaree with 21 members present and guests Sally Nighswonger and Carmen Eichen. Mary Ann Crow was hostess of this meeting.
The program was presented by Nighswonger on the technique of doing “Stack the Deck” cutting. This technique makes some unique pieces. She also shared a couple of quilts she has made using this pattern.
During the meeting several small projects were discussed. Drue Washburn presented blocks for the Quilt of Valor project. Dee Mason was the winner of a drawing for the Challenge Block contest and new fat quarters were passed out to those wanting to participate in this challenge and the five-inch squares brought by the members were chosen for the block challenge for the next meeting.
May 18 has been booked at the Runnymede for the Sew Fun Day. Show and Share was presented by Joanne Prewett, Patty Barker, Nelletta Johnson, Pauline Kassik, Drue Washburn and Charla Parker. Quilts may be viewed on Peace by Piece Quilt Guild Facebook page. Certificate winner was Fleta Reed.
Next month's hostess is Fleta Reed and the program will be presented by Liz Kinzie.
