This tombstone in Short Springs Cemetery, like many others, features the pioneer heritage of the family members buried there.
On Monday, May 27, the historic Short Springs Schoolhouse will once again ring with the sounds of singing and laughter. Visitors from several states and local families all with ties to the Short Springs Cemetery will gather for a presentation by State Sen. Roland Pederson, who also has ties to the Short Springs Community.
Although no classes have been held in the building for decades, it has been the home of the Cemetery Association for over 50 years. This continual usage has allowed the building to remain at its original location and receive enough regular maintenance to be the only one-room...
