Legion motorcycle riders to carry American flag from Mexico to Canada

 

American Legion riders Jim Hurst, Clint Strawn, Chris Grieve and James Burke, and others from Alva Legion Post No. 92, will be meeting the Centennial Riders at Bouse Junction to escort them to Alva on Saturday, Aug. 3.

American Legion Motorcycle Riders from Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and North Dakota will be making a 1,875-mile ride July 31 to Aug. 4 on U.S. Highway 281 also known as American Legion Memorial Highway.

The south half of the ride will begin in Pharr, Texas, on the Texas-Mexico border, where riders will be known as Team Vision. They will continue to Great Bend, Kansas, where they will meet with the second group of riders who traveled south from the Canada-North Dakota border.
