American Legion Riders arriving Saturday in Alva

Saturday, Aug. 3, area residents are invited to show their support for military veterans. The American Legion Riders will be entering Alva on a ride that stretches from the Mexican border to Canada. The public is invited to come out and welcome the motorcycle riders as they enter Alva from the south on US Highway 281 between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.
The riders will make their way north and turn left at US Highway 64 to go to the Cherokee Strip Museum Annex. After spending the night in Alva, the riders will be leaving no later than 8:30 a.m. Sunday to continue north on 281 to Hardtner, Kansas.
