This is the story of a man named Lester Hunt Sr. He was born in Illinois in July 1892. He died in Washington, D.C., in June 1954, 18 days shy of his 62nd birthday.

When Hunt died he was a United States senator from Wyoming. The manner of death was suicide by gunshot. Interestingly, Hunt's demise played a role in the fall from grace of another senator. Hunt attended college in Illinois followed by dental school in St. Louis. While in college, Hunt had visited Wyoming as a semi-pro baseball player and he decided to set up his dental practice there.
