More than our worst

“None of us are the sum total of the worst thing we’ve ever done.” I believe that statement, from a woman identified only as “Lisa,” is dead on target. Her son was killed while committing a crime. When his name was released by the news media, the only thing most people knew about him was that he was a dead criminal. Obviously, no mother wants her son remembered that way. None of us wants to be remembered only for the worst thing we’ve ever done.
