Tiger Women's Soccer Selected to Finish Third in GAC Preseason Poll

ARKADELPHIA, Ark- Ouachita Tigers Women's Soccer team tabbed to finish third in the conference in the Preseason Great American Conference Coaches' Poll.

The Tigers enter the 2019 season after finished 9-9 (7-5 in conference) during the 2018 campaign. Ouachita closed out the regular season winning two games against Harding University and East Central. However, they would fall in the first round of the Great American Conference Tournament to Oklahoma Baptist.

Ouachita returns leading scorer in junior Ashlyn Heckman who put in six goals and five assists for the Tigers last season. Heckman, who was selected as GAC Newcomer of the Year, was also named a second team All-Region middle fielder as well as a Great American Conference Honorable Mention team member. GAC Freshman of the Year selection, Jaymee Dotson, returns for the Tigers pairing with fellow midfielder Heckman. Dotson scored three times on the year and accounted for five assists as she was named to the first team All-GAC and third team All-Region teams.

On the defensive end the Tigers bring back first team All-GAC player, Simone Norvell. Ouachita will also receive contributions from returning Great American Conference Honorable mention team members, Carmen Scott and Isabella Lowry. Rounding out the defensive unit is four year starter Erin Webster, who has started 52 out of a possible 53 games in her tenure with the Tigers.
