Airport Commission to vote on five-year plan

December 8, 2019

The Alva Airport Commission will discuss the 2021-2025 capital improvement plans to be submitted to the FAA during their meeting Monday. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the conference room of the airport terminal.

Toby Baker of CEC Engineering has been working with the airport commission on the five-year capital improvement plan. When approved, the plan will be submitted to the FAA.

The airport is in the design phase of the Taxiway Extension Project. Garver Engineering needs a little more information to complete this phase including the bid date for the bid packet and whether electrical will be a separate project or will be converted “as we go.” With the change in engineering firms, CEC will handle the bidding of the project. The commission members will discuss the design phase and bidding and then vote on approving the final design.

The purchase of 100 low-lead aviation gasoline for the airport for $27,611.81 has already received city council approval. Commission members will need to acknowledge that purchase.

At the beginning of the meeting, there will be a report on the city council. The airport manager will give his report.

At the end of the meeting, airport commission members may make remarks. Then visitors present may make remarks and inquiries limited to two minutes per speaker.
