Loneliness

Loneliness: Such a sad word, and one that adds almost $7 billion a year to the cost of Medicare. According to AARP Magazine, symptoms include physical illness, depression and dementia. “Retirement is a setup for loneliness.”
A dilemma exists which asks the question, “Is it being lonely that makes you unhealthy, or is it because you’re unhealthy that you are lonely?”
My parents often used the phrase “It’s better to wear out than to rust out,” and the magazine echoes, “Leave your job, not your life.”
