The Alva Elks Hoop Shoot was held on Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Alva Middle School Gym, sponsored by the Alva Elks Lodge No. 1184. The event is for youth ages 8 to 13.

The contest begins at the local level, and winners advance through district, state and regionals, culminating at the National Finals this April in Chicago. Six contestants will be named national champions and will have their names permanently inscribed in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
