DRENDA JEAN GALLON

Drenda Jean Gallon

Memorial services for Drenda Jean Gallon will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2020, at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Carol Cook Moore officiating. Drenda was cremated at her request under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Drenda Jean Gallon, daughter of the late Herman Lee and Virginia Lea (Patterson) Lindsey, was born January 19, 1945, in Bethany, Oklahoma, and passed away June 3, 2020, in Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 14 days.

Drenda graduated from Yukon High School. She was married to Olen Couch. To this union two sons were born, Darin and Jeff Couch. On October 20, 1995, she was united in marriage to Gary Gallon. To this union she acquired two stepdaughters, Kirsten and Susan, and a step-son, Matthew J.

She worked several places as a secretary/bookkeeper most of her life.

She enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading, running around with her sidekicks, collecting dishes, Elvis Presley memorabilia, and most of all being with her weenie dogs. She sat outside on the patio for hours with them. Her humming birds made that time enjoyable. Many friends were with her on the swing making plans or just enjoying time together.

She loved decorating her house for every season, especially Christmas. As soon as Thanksgiving was over, the Christmas decorations came out and were often there until March. There was a Christmas tree in every room in the house.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lisa Perkins and Shanah Campbell.

Drenda is survived by her husband, Gary, of the home; three sons, Darin Couch of Alva, Jeff Couch of Alva, and Matthew J. Gallon of Lexington, Oklahoma; two daughters, Kirsten Gallon of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Susan Wolfe of Ft. Worth, Texas; three brothers, Herman Lindsey and wife, Eunice, of Oregon, Raymond Lindsey and wife, Cindy, of Piedmont, and Preston Lindsey and wife, Jeanene, of Bethany; other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Cancer Research.
