Alva Church of God

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Nathan Braudrick. Alva Church of God is located at 517 Ninth St. in Alva and can be found on the web at http://www.AlvaChurchOfGod.org.

Sunday: Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. and morning worship is at 10:30 a.m. Evening worship begins at 5:30 p.m. Young adults gather at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday: Wednesday services include 7 p.m. Bible Study, and youth group also meets at 7 p.m.

Alva Friends Church

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m .; coffee and donut fellowship at 10:10 a.m .; worship at 10:30 a.m. However, all of our in-person meetings have been temporarily postponed. These will resume once the CDC gives the go-ahead.

Alva Friends Church is on the corner of College Avenue and Center Street.

Barnes Street Church of Christ

Sunday worship services will be at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. (7 p.m. during daylight savings time). Visitors are most welcome to attend the worship services. For more information, contact Andrew Rhodes (327-3368) and Brian Gaddy (327-5130).

Bible Baptist Church

Are you looking for a church with honest worship and Biblical preaching? Come and visit Bible Baptist Church. We would be honored by your visit to our services. This Sunday we are resuming all children's ministries.

Our Family Discipleship (formerly Sunday school) will start at 9:30 a.m. There are three graded classes for children, a teen class, and two adult Bible classes. Join us for a time of learning and fellowship.

Our morning service begins at 10:30 a.m. There will be three ways to participate in our worship service. First, we will live stream our service over our Facebook page. Second, our front parking lot is reserved for those who want to listen from the safety of their car as we broadcast our worship service over an FM channel. Finally, we will be allowing worshipers into our building for regular services.

This Sunday is our Back to School Sunday. We will help equip families to prepare for a great school year. Join us as we help families energize for a new school year, pray for our school staff and seek the Lord's help this school year.

Junior and Teen Impact, our student ministry for grades 6-12, meets at 5 p.m.

Our evening service will begin at 6 p.m. Again, we will be offering all three ways to participate.

Tuesdays: Celebrate Recovery meets from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-based recovery program to help provide a safe place to discover a Savior who can give freedom from hang-ups, hurts and habits. Everyone is invited to attend.

Wednesdays: Our Wednesday prayer meeting and Bible study begin at 6:30 p.m.

Capron United Methodist Church

Come visit us at the little church on the prairie. Church service at 9:30 a.m.

Cedar Grove Wesleyan Church

Pastor Nathan Hosier and the Cedar Grove family invite you and your family to come this Sunday to worship with us. This Sunday we will begin a series on the Armor of God. We know that you may desire to stay home so we will live stream the service. Search for Cedar Grove on Facebook. We look forward to seeing you.

We are a country church that serves Christ and community with agape love. Come join us every Sunday for Sunday school at 10 a.m. Worship service will be at 11 a.m. We have a group study Sunday evening at 6 p.m. at the church.

Our youth will meet on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The church is located 7 miles west of Alva on U.S. Highway 64, turn north onto County Road 370, drive 10 miles to the S curve, and take half of the S and straight onto Major Road. The church is located 2 miles west on Major Road. Cedar Grove Wesleyan Church, 35021 Major Road, Alva, OK 73717.

Our Worker Appreciation Truck Stop continues every other Tuesday (suspended) from 9 a.m. to noon at the church. Stop by and see us. The ladies sewing group meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month in Hardtner.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

The Alva Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will resume limited services on Sunday, June 28. Only a 45-minute sacrament meeting will be held beginning at 10 a.m. For the time being, services will be conducted every other Sunday.

Members are encouraged to continue gospel study at home with their families, using the Come Follow Me – Book of Mormon manual.

The church building is located at 1467 Thunderbird, Alva, which is next to the Alva Recreation Center.

College Hill Church of Christ

Sunday Bible class for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m. and worship begins at 10:30 a.m. Following the weekly fellowship lunch, the afternoon service will begin at 12:45 p.m. Don't miss a Sunday with our great Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Dacoma United Methodist Church

eXtreme Youth Center

The eXtreme, located at 425 College Ave. in Alva, is a ministry of Hopeton Church. Students in sixth through 12th grade are invited to come hang out, play games, work on homework and enjoy time with friends after school from 3 to 5:30 p.m. The eXtreme is available to rent for parties and events. First Assembly of God

First Baptist Church

Notice: First Baptist will continue to livestream its services for the time being.

Sunday: 9:15 a.m. small groups, 10:30 a.m. morning worship with nursery provided.

Tuesday: Noon Brown Bag Bible Study. Bring your lunch and enjoy the fellowship.

Wednesday: 3 p.m. Sharing at Share Convalescent Home, 6 p.m. Youth (7th grade and up).

First Christian Church

Sunday: We will have our final Good Morning Service in the west parking lot at 8 a.m. Worship in the sanctuary and online will be at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Drew Kirtley will bring the message “Compelled to Goodness,” based on Luke 19:1-10. The Praise & Worship Team will be Sally Nighswonger, Emily Bohlen and Myra Davison.

Monday: Quilting and prayer blankets will continue from home.

Wednesday: FINAL lunchtime devotion will be on Facebook Live at noon.

First Presbyterian Church

Sunday: Sunday school will be at 9:30 a.m .; worship will begin at 11 a.m. (with social distancing; masks are encouraged). Chris Darr will be the liturgist. Rev. Ron Pingelton will bring the message “Ger Out of the Boat.” Readings will be Psalm 105:1-6, 16-22 and Matthew 14:22-33.

First Presbyterian Church of Alva is located at 628 Church St. ALL are welcome.

First United Methodist Church

There are two Sunday morning services: 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. We ask that people wear a mask although there is a section for non-mask wearers.

Gaisford Ministries/Midwest Healing Center Oklahoma

Nazarene Church

Donut and coffee fellowship is at 9:15 each Sunday morning, Bible study for ages 6 and up at 9:30, and worship begins at 10:30 a.m. Nursery is available for children under age 6 during worship. Missions lessons for ages 6 through fifth grade are held the second and fourth Sundays of the month.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church

The celebration of Holy Mass (Jesus in the Eucharist) is the source of our spiritual nourishment. Rev. Father Bala, Sagili Jesudas, is the parish priest (pastor) of Sacred Heart in Alva and its missions in Cherokee and Waynoka. You are welcome; be a part of the Sacred Heart Parish family.

Saturday: Waynoka services at Our Mother of Mercy Church include Sacrament of Confession at 4:30 p.m. and Holy Mass (Eucharist) at 5 p.m.

Sunday: Alva services at Sacred Heart Church include Sacrament of Confession at 8:15 a.m., Holy Rosary (1 and 3 Sundays) at 8:30 a.m., Holy Mass (Eucharist) at 9 a.m. Cherokee services at Saint Cornelius Church include Holy Rosary at 11 a.m. (all Sundays), Sacrament of Confession at 11:15 a.m., and Holy Mass (Eucharist) at 11:30 a.m.

Town and Country Christian Church

Sunday: Sunday school will be at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m.

Wednesday: Youth group will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Zion Lutheran Church

Please join us on Sundays for Sunday school and worship with us at Zion Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) at Third and Maple streets.

Sunday school (children and adults) begins at 9:15 a.m. Fellowship is at 10 a.m. Worship starts at 10:30 a.m. with Communion on the first and third Sundays. During Advent and Lent, Zion holds Wednesday services at 7 p.m.

Sunday, Aug. 2: At 5 p.m., we will ordain/install Pastor Timothy C. Roggow as the new pastor.

Weekly Happenings: Weekday School (grades 4-6) meets on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Handbells practice Mondays at 5 p.m.

Monthly meetings: Pitch Group (first Sunday evening of the month), Ruth Circle (first Monday of the month at noon), LWML (first Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.), Seasoned Saints (third Tuesday at 1 p.m.), Youth Group.
