BJCC reports 52 inmates test positive for COVID-19

ALVA, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Department of Corrections (ODOC) is deploying its Rapid Response Team to Bill Johnson Correctional Center (BJCC). ODOC has declared one housing unit at the facility a hot spot. This unit is currently quarantined from the rest of the population. Fifty-two of the facility’s 300 inmates have tested positive. ODOC medical staff has developed a plan to identify hot spots like this one within facilities and specific criteria for a rapid response to mitigate spread of the virus.
