Burlington School News: Rhonda Pinkston's fight against cancer
October 2, 2020
Beloved cafeteria cook Rhonda Pinkston started working at Burlington School in 2018. She was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer on Friday, Dec. 13, 2019. It is an extremely rare form of cancer.
The people who helped her go through her procedure were her sisters in the Kansas City area; one of them was on the phone with her almost every day. She also talked to her dad a lot. Her boyfriend, Lloyd, took her to each one of her doctor appointments. Her church also helped her.
For her appointments, she went to Enid at Saint Mary's Cancer Center for chemo and Bass Hospital for radiation treatments. What helped her the most going through this process was her faith in God.
The school recently celebrated the end of her treatments. She is glad to have the kids back in school.
