WAC Delegates at Food Pantry - (From left) Emma Schupbach, Jansen Shirley, Sierra Davidson and Davin Budy joined Alva Wesleyan Food Pantry Director Jennifer Marston to help sanitize and organize the Food Pantry for their act of community service.

4-H members from Woods County and Alfalfa County gathered to attend the Virtual West Action Conference on Oct. 16.

The goal of West Action Conference is to share ideas and information that youth can take home and share with their county or community, as well as to improve themselves. Members were able to attend officer-led workshops, listen to a speaker and elect new district officers over Zoom conference call.

WAC Delegates-L to R-Davin Budy, Emma Schupbach, Sierra Davidson and Jansen Shirley met at the Woods Country Courthouse on October 16, 2020 to attend the Virtual West Action Conference. Former West District President, Austin Rankin was also in attendance.

Delegates representing Woods County consisted of Davin Budy and Sierra Davison from Waynoka and Jansen Shirley from Alva. Emma Schupbach from Alfalfa County also joined them at the Woods County Courthouse. Casey Matzke and Mylee Sims from Alfalfa County attended virtually from home. Sims ran for the office of west district reporter as well. Former West District President Austin Rankin from Waynoka was present and led a workshop entitled "Planning and Time Management."

The first workshop the group attended focused on the importance of community service and acts of citizenship, presented by Madison Nickels and Paige Duffield. Soon after, our WAC delegates visited the Alva Wesleyan Food Pantry to help sanitize and organize the building for those who visit. This served as a community service break for our members and gave them an opportunity to serve their community and make the best better!

Although there were a few virtual hiccups, this was another successful West Action Conference that was very beneficial for 4-H members. Thank you to all educators and volunteers who worked hard to make sure this event happened during these uncertain times.
