Masks again debated by Cherokee school board

Masks were once again a heated topic of discussion at the Cherokee School Board meeting Monday evening, with board member Kurtis Goodwin and Interim Superintendent Bryce Shanbacher exchanging strong views on the school's mask mandate.

The board consists of members Kory Littlefield, Kurtis Goodwin, Amber Wilhite, Desiree Gibson and Shane Parker. Principals Jeremy Hickman and Ruth Richmond were also present. Principal and coach Bryce Shanbacher is now acting superintendent, as Superintendent Donna Anderson has moved closer to MD Anderson, where she is receiving treatment for cancer.
