Demel explains use of Kiowa's generators during arctic blast

Most in this area of south central Kansas and northwest Oklahoma can't remember waking up to arctic-like temperatures of 12 below zero with windchills reported near 29 below for multiple days. That's the reality this week.

Tuesday morning Kiowa City Administrator Sam Demel said that Kiowa is running their generators in an effort to do their part to lighten the load on the electricity demand across the grid during this power shortage due to the arctic blast.
