Woods County charges of enticing a child and computer crimes have been filed against a man from Tulsa. He is accused of enticing someone he believed to be a girl, age 14, to go with him with the intent of committing a crime against public decency.

Court records in the case show on March 15, District Attorney’s Investigator Steve Tanio was informed by a reliable source of current child sexual abuse undercover chat communications on a social media site. The source, with whom Tanio had previously work regarding several other Internet Crimes Against Children investigations, identified Bobby Gene Ausbrooks as the adult male who was communicating with an undercover person he believed to be a 14-year-old female child from Alva.

Tanio was provided with screen shots of the chat communications between the undercover person (UC) and Ausbrooks which included sexually explicit texts, numerous images Ausbrooks and few sexually explicit images of male private parts.

Tanio conducted a limited background check on Ausbrooks, locating a criminal history record. The history indicated Ausbrooks pled guild in Tulsa County in 2003 to one count of lewd or indecent proposals or acts to a child and rape – second degree, receiving a 13-year sentence with the Department of Corrections (DOC). Ausbrooks was listed as an aggravated and habitual sex offender with the DOC. Tanio observed that text images sent were of the same person in the DOC case.

On March 22, Tanio obtained copies of text communications allegedly sent by Ausbrooks to the UC portrayed as a 14-year-old female which were conducted in Alva on March 16.

Bobby Gene Ausbrooks, Jr., 50, of Tulsa, has been charged with two felony counts: enticing a child under 16 into a secluded place and violation of Oklahoma Statute via computer.

Count 1 is punishable by imprisonment in the state Penitentiary for not less than three years nor more than 20 years and shall not be eligible for probation, suspended or deferred sentence.

Count 2 is punishable by imprisonment for not more than five years or by a fine of not more than $5,000, or by both such imprisonment and fine.

A felony warrant has been issued for Ausbrooks.
