Kiowa man critically injured in collision

 


A Kiowa, Kansas, man was critically injured in a collision in Alfalfa County. Alexander Kuhr, 30, was transported by Alfalfa County EMS to Kiowa District Hospital and then transferred by medical helicopter to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was admitted in critical condition with leg, arm, trunk external, trunk internal and head injuries.

The collision occurred on Sunday, July 4, at 3:15 p.m. on County Road 580 and Noble Road, approximately five miles north of Burlington.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Jeremy Stewart, 35, of Kiowa, Kansas, was operating a 2007 Suzuki following by Kuhr on a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle. They were northbound on CR 580 and passed a disabled vehicle on the roadside. Stewart slowed his motorcycle. Kuhr turned to look at the disabled car and struck Stewart’s motorcycle from behind. Stewart was not injured.
