Trooper Darrin Lancaster said he reached 148 mph without gaining on the speeding vehicle in front of him – a 2002 silver Subaru. The pursuit began Friday, Aug. 6, about 11:31 a.m. when Trooper Jeff Steelman reported he had just radar-checked a silver car, eastbound on US-64, at 82 mph in a 55 mph zone.

Steelman advised he observed the vehicle passing other vehicles and weaving in and out of traffic. Steelman turned around and was trying to catch up to the vehicle but was caught by traffic and could not safely get around vehicles.
