This John Wayne mural is one of three painted in Alva during the Northwest Mural Fest last weekend. The event was sponsored by the Alva Mural Society. Present for the artist's signing on Sunday are, from left, Exotic Heatwave owners F.M. and Bonita Erikson, artist Tox Murillo and Jesus Murillo.

Sunday afternoon, @Hive Appeal signed this mural of canola blooms painted on the front of the Farmers' Co-op Supply Store in Alva. Co-op Manager Charlotte Murrow (left) joins artist Ty and Kelly Tompkins in front of their creation.
