Archaeology: as old as the plundering of Egyptian Tombs and as modern as dumpster diving. I still recall the wonder of viewing the breast plate of King Tutankhamen at a display in Dallas over 20 years ago. How fortunate we are that the Pyramids, the Roman Coliseum, and Mayan temples remain as the engineering feats of prior civilization.

But it is the little things that count. Archaeology might be defined as “objects concealed in the Earth;” simple tools and magnificent treasure are all considered such. Arrowheads in our own community confirm the existence of hunters who roamed this lan...
