ALVA, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State University baseball program announces two coaching changes to their staff. Austin Thomason has been promoted to recruiting coordinator and Kaleb Honea has been promoted to director of operations. Thomason and Honea will both be instrumental in all facets of on field duties as well.

"Austin and Kaleb have already been a huge boost to our coaching staff. I couldn't ask for two better young coaches to be on our staff and I look forward to seeing their growth and success in their new, expanded roles in our program," head coach Ryan Bowen stated.

Honea pitched for the Rangers for three seasons, throwing a total of 42 games. His best season was this past one where he finished the season with a 4-2 record with a 3.53 ERA finishing with 11 saves. Honea spent time this past summer pitching for the Joliet Slammers, a professional baseball team in Joliet Illinois.

Thomason threw a total of 23 games in his collegiate career including one season with the Rangers for a total of 13 games. He finished the season with one complete game on the year with a 3-2record on the season striking out 32 hitters in 45 innings of work.

Nathan Weatherly will be moving on as he is taking a position with Major League Baseball. Weatherly will be working in MLB data operations where he will be responsible for digitally scoring games from the ballpark, which provides the data used in the live content applications on mlb.com, including Gameday, real-time highlights, and text alerts.

"Nathan made a big impact on our program in his time here on staff. He did an outstanding job in operations and in a lead recruiting role. Nathan will be greatly missed but we are extremely happy and proud for him to get this opportunity to work for Major League Baseball" said Bowen.

Northwestern Oklahoma State Baseball will open their season with a three game home series starting Friday, Feb. 4, through Sunday, Feb. 6.
