Potential bills could impact sales taxes, marijuana grow license fees, organized crime

We’ve convened the 2022 legislative session, which begins each year on the first Monday in February and must end no later than 5 p.m. on the last Friday of May. The first day of the session is also when the governor delivers his yearly State of the State address.

One of the topics Gov. Stitt covered was his goal to eliminate the sales tax on groceries. I think the word “eliminate” is causing some concern among municipalities, because local towns or counties can’t put a sales tax on anything the state doesn’t.
