Bills seek to protect state constitution

 


The House finished its committee work last week, hearing hundreds of bills in packed meetings. I'm thankful all of my bills passed committee and are now eligible to be heard on the House floor. I feel like I accomplished some good work, and I'm ready to face the future challenges that may come as the bills pass through the House.

I wanted to explain a few pieces of legislation that have drawn some confusion. House Joint Resolution 1058 would require all state questions that would amend the State's Constitution through the initiative petition process to receive a 55% majority vote to pass,...
