Daylight saving time begins Sunday, March 13. Don't forget to set your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed Saturday night. Of course, cellphones and most computers automatically update. The time changes twice each year can make you feel tired and have other effects.

Losing an hour may not seem like a big deal, but it "really can have a significant impact on our overall health and well-being," says Melissa Lipford, M.D., a neurologist and sleep specialist at the Mayo Clinic.

The average person gets about 40 minutes less sleep on the Monday after "springing forward" for daylight saving...
