February Alva Middle School Students of the Month

 

February Alva Middle School Students of the Month are (from left) Michael Penner, Morgan Vickers, Owen Vermillion, Daisy Ceniceros, T. J. Maltby, Haleigh Richardson.

The teachers at Alva Middle School have selected Morgan Vickers and Michael Penner, 8th grade; Haleigh Richardson and T. J. Maltby, 7th grade; and Daisy Ceniceros and Owen Vermillion, 6th grade as Alva Middle School Students of the Month for February.

Morgan Vickers is in 8th grade and is the daughter of John and Christi Vickers. Her grandparents are Larry and Kiola Ryks, and Todd and Bonnie Bothwell. Her favorite classes are science and athletics. She is involved in softball, track, and youth group. In the future, she would like to be a tattoo artist.

Michael Penner is in 8th grade and is the son of Mike and Kelcey Bryant, and Ryan and Shayla Penner. His grandparents are Clint and Debbie Harzman, Donna Bryant, Kevin Bryant, Jamie and Diane Penner, and Richard and Charla Gleave. His favorite classes are athletics, reading, and math. He is involved in football, track, and the First Baptist Church Youth Group. In the future, he would like to be a football player.

Haleigh Richardson is in 7th grade and is the daughter of Chad and Racheal Richardson. Her grandparents are Bobby and Beth Mosburg, and Jeff and Pamela Fanning. Her favorite classes are geography and basketball. She is involved in TSA, basketball, and babysitting and watching little kids. In the future, she would like to be a business person.

T. J. Maltby is in 7th grade and is the son of Jr. Maltby and Tiesa Maltby. His favorite classes are math and P. E. In the future, he would like to be a teacher. Additionally he has three brothers.

Daisy Ceniceros is in 6th grade and is the daughter of Pablo and Lucila Ceniceros. Her grandparents are Maximo and Matha Espino, Felix Ceniceros, and Catalina Ceniceros. Her favorite classes are math and gym. In the future, she would like to be a veterinarian or something important to people. Additionally, she is proud of her Hispanic heritage and being able to speak Spanish.

Owen Vermillion is in 6th grade and is the son of Aaron and Lisa Vermillion. His grandparents are Keith and Eva Yearout, and Dennis and Lynda Vermillion. His favorite classes are reading and basketball.

These students received lunch provided by Pizza Hut of Alva as an extension of the Alva Middle School Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Program implemented in the Alva Public Schools. The students of the month program is sponsored and organized by Kandee Almgren.
