Alva has 15 active cases of Covid-19

 


Covid-19 numbers are increasing, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) report released Thursday, July 7. In the past four weeks, Woods County has recorded 42 active cases. Among neighboring counties, Woodward and Major have higher numbers with 97 and 71 respectively. Harper County had 13 over the past four weeks while Alfalfa County had eight. Garfield County record 174.

The most recent report from OSDH about nursing homes shows Beadles Nursing Home in Alva with no cases among residents and staff, but Share Convalescent Home had one case among staff with none among residents.

Thursday’s report shows Oklahoma with 14,600 active cases of Covid-19. Alva has 15 currently. Dacoma is shown as zero, which indicates a number below 5. Freedom and Waynoka show blanks which seems to indicate no active cases.

In nearby towns, Woodward has 34 active cases and Fairview has 26 as of Thursday. Buffalo is listed at zero with suppression meaning below 5 cases. Cherokee shows no cases. Enid is shown to have 88 active Covid-19 cases.

There are free vaccines available for children as young as 6 months as well as boosters for those who qualify.
