Previously, we looked at the mayors of Rabbit Hash, Kentucky, all of whom have been canines. Meanwhile, a small town in Minnesota also had a dog run for mayor a few years ago, but he lost the election.

The pup lost to a male human who, at the time of his victory in 2012, was 3 years old! The winning candidate was, quite obviously, a much better leader than is the case with many small-town mayors!

His name is Robert Tufts, known as “Bobby” to his constituents. He is now the ex-mayor, having served two one-year terms before losing his bid for a third in 2014.
