Active Covid-19 cases drop to 11 in Alva

The number of active Covid-19 cases in Alva has dropped by half since last week, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) weekly report. The Aug. 18 data shows Alva with 11 active cases compared to 22 a week ago. Waynoka now has zero cases after reaching six last week. The OSDH lists zero for any numbers under five. Dacoma and Freedom also show zeroes.

Statewide the OSDH is showing 17,830 active Covid-19 cases compared to 19,703 last week. In nearby counties, Buffalo and Cherokee have zero cases. Fairview has 20 and Woodward 32 in Thursday’s report. Enid has 244 cases.

In the four previous weeks, Woods County had 48 cases, Alfalfa County 23, Major County 125, Woodward County 114, and Harper County 24.
