City council passes resolution to fund holiday projects

Action by the Alva City Council Monday cleared the way for the city to help fund holiday service projects. These are projects designed to enhance the local economy, promote tourism and contribute to an overall attractive community.
Passed by the city council, Resolution No. 2022-025 identifies priority holidays to include Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Halloween, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. That list does not exclude other dates. The resolution was approved 6-2 with Troy Brooks and Taylor Dowling voting no.
