December AMS Students of the Month

The teachers at Alva Middle School have selected Kayla Maier and Jakobi Rose, eighth grade; Kalyn Berry and Christian Callahan, seventh grade; and Elliana Reames and Raiden Dooley, sixth grade, as AMS Students of the Month for December.

Kayla Maier is in eighth grade and is the daughter of Steve and Amber Maier. Her grandparents are Randy and Susan Hill, Milton and Becky Hicks, David and Sue George, and John Maier. Her favorite classes are math and Electric Voices Show Choir. She is involved in Girl Scouts, Kiowa Swim Team, Electric Voices, cheerleading and Alva Public Library Ambassadors. In the future, she would like to be a zookeeper.

Jakobi Rose is in eighth grade and is the son of Matt and Jami Rose. His grandparents are John and Gene Meyers, Robin Rose, and Allen and Nancy Shield. His favorite classes are math and Electric Voices Show Choir. He is involved in track and field and show choir. In the future he would like to be a wrestler.

Kalyn Berry is in seventh grade and is the daughter of Matt and Kerry Berry. Her grandparents are Jerry and Karen Hada, and Gordon Fields. Her favorite classes are geography, technology education and home ec. She is involved in soccer, academic team, Girl Scouts, and track. In the future she would like to be a veterinarian.

Christian Callahan is in seventh grade and is the son of Shane and Dorothy Callahan. His favorite classes are TSA and technology education. In the future he would like to be an architect.

Elliana Reames is in sixth grade and is the daughter of Eric and Ellyssa Reames. Her grandparents are Frank and Virginia Lambert. Her favorite classes are reading and technology education. She is involved in the academic team, 4-H, soccer, and baseball. In the future she would like to be an engineer. Additionally, with the academic team she has placed third in Humanities which qualifies her for the Tournament of Champions later this spring. She also is proud of her 6-year-old brother, Esten.

Raiden Dooley is in sixth grade and is the son of Patrick and Madeline Dooley. His grandparents are Jeff and Helen Easter. His favorite classes are reading and P.E. He is involved in soccer. In the future he would like to be an engineer. Additionally, he has a younger sister named Jazlyn.

These students received lunch provided by Gambino's of Alva as an extension of the AMS Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Program implemented in the Alva Public Schools. The Students of the Month Program at Alva Middle School is sponsored and organized by Kandee Almgren.
