Art of the West featured during First Friday Art Walk tonight

Known for his leather work, Jim Weaver displays relief prints of his designs at Graceful Arts Gallery in Alva. At right are prints showing how Weaver makes the prints from leather.
The Graceful Arts Gallery in Alva is showing their "Art of the West" display during tonight's First Friday Art Walk. Featured artists are Jim Weaver, Lori Jones and Micah Redman. All three artists are expected to be on hand to visit with those attending.
Weaver is well known for his leatherwork, but for this show he's used his designs on leather to make wall prints. He even provides information on the process. Jones is displaying beautifully detailed monotone drawings of western scenes. Redman's work is featured on the front cover of this edition.
Three music instructors from Northwestern Oklahoma State University will provide special music. Max Ridgway on guitar, Calderone Moreira on flute and Eduardo Moreira on piano will entertain attendees. Refreshments will be provided.
