Leadership Oklahoma class maps walking routes in Alva

Leadership Oklahoma Class VII consisted of 12 individuals from diverse professional and personal backgrounds. The program comprised nine sessions that explored various aspects of leadership while showcasing the highlights and gems of Northwest Oklahoma.

One of the key components of the program was a class project, which the participants selected in the early sessions. Class VII decided to create a brochure called "Alva Trails," featuring a walking map to different locations in Alva. The goal was to encourage physical activity in the community and potentially contribute to future grants for Alva.

To gather the distances of the different walks, members of the class physically walked from the Woods County Court House to each of the destinations. The class met multiple times outside of the designated meetings to ensure the project was completed before the graduation date of May 4, 2023. The group delivered the brochures to various locations in the community with the hope that citizens will pick up a brochure and choose to #walkalva.

Leadership Oklahoma is highly recommended to anyone who currently serves in a leadership position or has an interest in leadership. The program not only provides personal growth opportunities but also enhances knowledge of Northwest Oklahoma.
