Woods County Commissioners have routine meeting

August 2, 2023

The Woods County Commissioners had a short and routine agenda for their meeting Monday morning. Chairman John Smiley opened the meeting with David Hamil and Randy McMurphy present. Also attending were County Clerk Shelley Reed and Jennifer Schafer, first deputy in the county clerk’s office.

After approving minutes of the last meeting, the commissioners approved the June 2023 detention transportation claim in the amount of $246.02.

A temporary easement with Jean Sneary was approved for gravel at $1 per yard.

McMurphy made a motion, seconded by Hamil, to sign the annual contract with AirMedCare Network at $65 per household. Reed said the rate stayed the same for this year but is expected to increase next year. The motion was approved unanimously. This contract is for one of the benefits provided to county employees.

Two items involved bridge inspections by Circuit Engineering District No. 8. Both were approved. The first item was approval of the conference between CED#8 and the county. The second was for the bridge inspection invoice. Both actions are required for the county to receive reimbursement from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

The commissioners approved a temporary easement with Royce Friend for $1,200 per year to lease land for a stockpile. The lease amount will be split among three siblings.

In final action, the commissioners approved blanket purchase orders.
