I was recently browsing my Instagram when an interesting suggested post appeared. It was a lady – I would guess to be in her late 30s, maybe early 40s – who had immigrated from England to the United States 30 years ago. She had tried so hard to fit in but was seemingly unable to. She went on to explain that she had changed so much about herself in order to be accepted and to fit in, but she still didn’t feel like she totally belonged. She had tried to change her accent and so many of her mannerisms and thoughts that had been formed in England.
