2nd Annual Alfalfa County STAR Show for special needs students held

The Alfalfa County STAR Show is a livestock show designed for special needs students of Alfalfa County and is held during the Alfalfa County Fair. This is the second year for this event. Volunteers from Cherokee 4-H/FFA, Burlington 4-H/FFA, 4-Him 4-H, Timberlake 4-H/FFA, Alfalfa County OSU Extension and the Alfalfa County Fair Board all helped with the event.

Each participant (special needs child) was paired with one or two 4-H/FFA students and exhibited a show animal in a class of their own. There were 10 exhibitors this year:

Izaih Green – sheep. Izaih attends Cherokee High School. He enjoys taking walks, swinging and twirling pencils.

Logan Stewart – sheep. Logan is a senior at Burlington High School. He enjoys his animals and pets at home, watching movies, listening to audio books and playing catch.

Liberty Bird – goat. Liberty is a senior at Cherokee High School. She enjoys going for walks, swimming, going to church and visiting her brother at college. She also loves her dog, Swift, and listening to Taylor Swift with friends.

Kambri Bussard – sheep. Kambri attends Cherokee Junior High School. She spends her free time visiting friends.

Dolton Hoos – dairy heifer. Dolton attends Cherokee Junior High School. He enjoys playing games with his cousins, watching TV and playing with his toys.

Cole Kilmer – goat. Cole is in 6th grade at Timberlake School. He enjoys playing video games.

Bennley Wallace – sheep. Bennley is in Kindergarten at Timberlake School. She likes hanging out with her brothers and sister, swinging outside and Disney movies.

Augustus Fesmire – pig. Augustus is a 4th grader at Timberlake School. He is a video expert, loves to swim and enjoys time with his family.

Benaiah Spears – goat. Benaiah is in Kindergarten at Burlington School. He enjoys riding a golf cart, eating good food and loves Mrs. Sims class. He also just recently came back from a trip to Disney World.

Kenneth May – pig. Kenneth is in 6th grade at Timberlake School. He enjoys playing outside, watching the trains go by and playing with kittens.

Each participant received a ribbon and prize.
