Kiowa's City Council discussed their proposed budget at the regular September meeting and then had a brief (about 20-minute) special meeting a few days later to finalize details. At that special meeting the council approved the proposed budget, which includes a slight mill decrease and revenue increase. They set the Public Budget Hearing for Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. in the council chambers.
The 2024 Proposed Budget calls for a mill rate of 36.001. This is estimated to generate $581,450 for expenditures in the general fund. The 2023 budget mill rate was 38.398 and generated expenditures of $564,15...
