Scenes from the Mural Fest

The largest and most detailed work in the Northwest Mural Fest takes shape Saturday on the metal building just east of the K & K Body Works office and shop. Chris Bodelle, owner of a tattoo parlor in Enid, works with spray paint to fill in the outlines. The mural features an antique K & K wrecker truck and the Cunningham Conoco in the background. If you look closely, you can see the outline of a bulldog to the right of the scaffolding, bringing memories of Stan Kline's faithful companions Harley and Harry.

A power pole and overhead lines add extra shadows to this mural on the south side of the Sights & Sounds (Radio Shack) building in Alva. Candy Kuo of Austin, Texas, painted the mural reminiscent of long-ago advertising signs. It seems appropriate the lady in red holds a Dr. Pepper since a Coca-Cola and Dr. Pepper bottling plant was once located in Alva.
