ADA – Northwestern Oklahoma State traveled to Ada for a conference match-up against East Central last weekend. East Central broke a scoreless tie in the 32nd minute before adding on in the second half for a 2-0 win.

The Rangers drop to 1-5-5 on the season with a 0-2-3 conference record. The Tigers improve to 1-7-3 on the year and 1-1-3 in conference.

Northwestern tried to attack early in the game with two quick shots on goal, the first one saved by McKenna Leveling before (30 seconds later) saving another one in the bottom left side. The Tigers had two corner kicks within 10 minutes capitalizing on the second one. Off the corner kick the Tigers' Brooklyn Meisner scored with her right foot; the ball hit the goal's top post before bouncing into the back of the net.

The first half ended with East Central in the lead 1-0. Rangers had seven shots to the Tigers' three.

In the second half, East Central's defense continued to play well. Northwestern had 10 shots in the second half to tie the game. However East Central kept the Rangers off the board throughout and eventually added to their lead.

In the 79th minute of the game, after a give-and-go pass, Abbie Morris was able to beat two Ranger defenders before sending one to the back of the net on the left side.

Northwestern returns to play on Oct. 11 against Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford. Kick-off is set for 3 p.m. This will be the second match of the season between the two teams after tying 1-1 on Sept. 20.
