The United States has seen numerous disputed elections in its history, from the presidency on down to the state and local level.

One contested election occurred in 1918 in a campaign for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania.

Republican Congressmember John Farr was running for a fifth term, having been first elected in 1910. His Democratic opponent was Patrick McLane.
