Enid father of five dies in train/semi crash on Kiowa's west tracks

The husband and father in this photo is Josh Rainey of Enid who died in a semi-train crash last Thursday in Kiowa. He leaves his wife and their five children. Donations may be made to the family two different ways as specified in the story.

At 11:49 a.m. Oct. 26, the life of Josh Rainey ended on the railroad tracks on the west side of Kiowa, Kansas.

According to Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Lieutenant Bryan Quick, Rainey was westbound on KS-2 (which is Kiowa's Main Street) at milepost 4, which is .15 miles west of KS-8.

Rainey, 40 of Enid, was driving a 2003 Peterbilt tractor/truck. Quick confirmed the crossing arms were down with lights going off when Rainey "maneuvered around the railroad crossings and was struck by a train."
