An Alva woman accused of keying her ex-husband’s vehicle is now facing a felony charge in Woods County. Damage to the 2022 Ford F250 pickup on the driver’s side door panel is estimated at $1,200.

Holley Ann Ortiz, alias Holley Ann Perez, 37, is charged with malicious injury to property – over $1,000. This crime is punishable by imprisonment in the state penitentiary for up to two years or a fine not exceeding $1,000, or both fine and imprisonment.

According to court records, on Jan. 30 John Ortiz went to the Alva Police Department to make a report. He said he was letting his ex-wife, Holley Ann Ortiz, and her son do their laundry at his residence on Center Street.

John said he told Holley not to be “talking her voodoo stuff” while she was there. She had completed some laundry and then “started talking her voodoo stuff,” said John. He told her he didn’t want to hear it, and if she continued she would need to leave. He got off the couch to get the clothes from the dryer and put them on the floor next to her so she could leave. He said he then went to the washer to get the clothes from there when Holley came in and forcefully grabbed the clothes out of his hands. He said then told her to leave.

John said she looked him in the eyes and elbowed him in the mouth with her left elbow. He called for Holley’s son to come get her with no response. He said Holley continued to yell and then she slapped him in the face multiple times. He again yelled for her son with no response. He said Holley continued to slap him in the face. John yelled for her son a third time, and he came to where they were. He told the son to get Holley out before he punched her in the face. He said her son tried to push him down. There was a very short scuffle of pushing and shoving. He said the son tried to punch him but missed. At that point the altercation ended.

John said Holley said she “would kill me and my family at her will.” He said Holley’s belongings were removed from the residence, and he began recording their interaction with each other.

When Alva Police Officer Timothy Clapp viewed the video, he observed Holley talking and making no sense. He heard her say she has a guy that will kill John and collect some of the insurance money. Clapp also heard her say she would have John’s daughter’s head cut off as well. In the video Clapp saw Holley and her son get into her car. She drove the car very close to John’s pickup. He saw John start to run over to his pickup to see what she was doing. She then drove off. John told Clapp that she keyed his pickup as she was leaving, causing approximately $1,200 of damage.

Officer Clapp took pictures of John’s truck and his face. Under his upper lip, Clapp observed blood. He also observed redness on either side of John’s face.
