Students from Alva win medals in Braille Challenge Finals

Kaos Davis (right) of Alva won the silver medal and Justus Hoover of Alva won the bronze medal in the Braille Challenge Finals at Muskogee March 6.
On Wednesday, March 6, local blind and visually impaired youth in grades 1–12 showcased their braille skills at the Oklahoma Regional Braille Challenge and battled for a spot at Braille Challenge Finals in Los Angeles this summer. Kaos Davis and Justus Hoover of Alva won medals at the event.
Parents, teachers and friends cheered students on as they furiously typed away on their braillers and quickly glided their fingers along braille dots during this exciting day of competition and camaraderie.
