Piper on the job since April 1, sees need for affordable housing

“It feels good to be back home,” Ty Piper said of his return to the Kiowa, Kansas, area. After having a career as a government contractor, he is the new Kiowa city administrator. When asked about his job as a contractor, Piper described it “as demanding with never a dull moment.”

He is the son of Glen and Donna Piper, who had a farming interest in the area. Glen was a longtime South Barber school superintendent. The Pipers now reside in a retirement facility at Pratt.
