Kandi Hughart (left) was crowned as Miss Northwestern Oklahoma State University 2017 during the annual pageant Sunday. She will represent Northwestern at the Miss Oklahoma Scholarship Pageant in June. Emily Sanders (right) was crowned as the 2017 Miss Northwestern's Outstanding Teen, and Asbrie Heaton (center) was named Miss Northwestern's Star.
Kandi Hughart of El Reno was named Miss Northwestern Oklahoma State University 2017 during the annual Miss Northwestern Pageant on Sunday, Oct. 30. Emily Sanders of Kingfisher was crowned as Miss Northwestern's Outstanding Teen 2017.
Hughart, a senior who is double-majoring in psychology and health and fitness management, performed a fitness dance, and her platform was "Choose Happy – A Strong Mindset." She also won the People's Choice Award.
Sanders, homeschooled eighth grader, performed a vocal solo for the pageant, and her platform was "Write Your Own Story."
