Can you hear me okay

February 26, 2017

I hope you all read Lynn's Newsgram column about the never say yes to anyone that asks if you can hear them okay on a phone call. It happened to me. Someone called me and told me they were with some medical company and then asked me if I could hear them okay. I said: no I could not. The caller (or recording), asked me again if I could hear them? I replied: He__ no, tell me what you need. Click. Thank you Lynn and you should probably run the story again.

Great news for those that want to see criminals. I found out you can buy the JAILBIRDS paper at Ampride. It shows pictures, names and crimes for all the arrested for different local counties. I used to buy them in Watonga, but they were for counties south of us. I emailed the paper's gurus and asked why there were no Woods, Alfalfa, or Woodward county papers. They said the local sheriff's offices have to get on board for them to get the information. I am glad it all worked out for Woods and Woodward counties. It probably qualifies as mindless entertainment, but is fun to look at. Someone asked me if I ever saw anyone I knew and I jokingly told them I could check out why some of my helpers were missing.

I don't know about anybody else but I think the new tags are butt ugly. I want the highway patrolmen that said the new tags were easier to read than the older tags to come by and try to make me believe that with a straight face. I would give $5 more to keep my old tag and not be embarrassed with this on my cars. Strictly a money thing with the state. Over $800,000 million in shortfalls and how much more money are the politicians promising teachers? Lots of cuts in social services, senior programs, DHS and corrections. I wouldn't mind paying more taxes, if I could be assured the money went where needed most, but it won't be. Let's cut out the free money for our government. Instead of having secretaries and other helpers, let the legislators answer their own phones. Cut salaries back to teacher levels. Quit paying the heads of department of transportation and others with triple digit salaries. If the government people had to live like the rest of us, it would be a lot easier to solve the deficit. Any high ranking officials that feels this is persecution can feel free to quit and let someone in that wants to make it right. Trump is really smarter than many give him credit for. After he saw how Gov. Fallin was destroying Oklahoma, he had the good sense to pass her over.

One of my favorite friends passed away this week. Lee Haley, I will miss you.
